Russian Seeks Sanctuary In Japan
Received Thursday, 9.55 p.m. * . TOKIO, March 3. H...A A second Russian, the 24 years old Tnnokentiy Zyryanov, fled the . Soviet. late last year and sought a safe haven iMth the ITnited States Forces in Japan. He said that in 1948 there were two large scale niovements of troops in the Far Fast. They were not replacements hui additions to bring existing units to full strength and in some cases above strength. On the Kuvashiri Islands in the Kuriles, where he was working as secretary to the director of a shipyard. a brigade was eonverted into a division to garrison the three islands of the Kuriles. In addition there was constant Soviet propaganda against the United States und Britain which had created a strong i'eeling against those countriea.
