Would Welcome Red Army As Liberators

Received Thursday, 11.55 p.m. PARI.S, March 3. A meeting of 20,000 Communists last night unanimously endorsed "without reservation" the statement by the Communist Party leader, M. Maurice Thorez, that in the case of war, the Freneh Communists would welcome the Hoviet Army as liberators. An Associated Press message from Vienna says that Austrian Communists are the latest to state they will support the Soviet Union in case of war. The Communist newspaper Volksstimme, said: "The people of Austrin will not shed blood for the dollar. They will not raise their hands against the land of socialism." The announeement was the first indicaiion that the local group was following the pattern tirst set by Thorez in France and followed by Communist hautere in Italy, Germany and Britain.
