Power Board Employee Electrocuted
Tragedy marked tlie concluding stages of the corapletion of the new Bulls bfidge yesterday at 9.30 a.m. when i? » MR. JACK TAYLOR, employee of the Wanganui - Rangitikei Blectric Power Board, was electrocuted. Mr. Tayipr was engaged in disconnecting .electric wires leading into the eookhouse and workshop when an employee of the Rope Construction (Joujipany heard a groaning , noise outside. He investigated and found Mr. Taylor hung in the two 400-volt lines. He was released immediately and artificial respiration carried out for some time but all elforts proved fruitless. JDr. (J. L. Walton pronounced life extinct. Mr. Taylor was a married man, aged 46, with two children. He had been employed by the Power Board for about- 12 years, having first been stationed at Marton. Prior to that he was associated with the Tararua Electric Power Board at Pahiatua for some 14 years. , ■ . • An inquest was opened before Mr. II. J. Higham, J.P., and after evidenco of identification had been given by Constable Pawsey, it was adjourned sine die.
