Steady Rise In Roll At Levin School
'. The roll numbers at the Levin Bchool have ris.en considerably in Vecent years and consequent on fhis increase it is entitled to engage clerical staff to assist with routine matters. This information was contained in the report of the headmaster, Mr. H. F., McClune, to the Levin* School "Committee at its meeting on Monday night.- Mr. McClune advised that the roll now stood at 665, and recommended - that steps be taken to sepure a qualified person to assist with the clerical work at the school. It was decided by the committee 'to obtain the assistance and ask "the Education Board to supply the necessary office equipment to which the school is entitled. The committee received an application from the New Zealand Presbycerian Young Women's Bible C-ass Union- for the use of the school at Easter time. The application was. supported by the Revs. A. Salmond and G. A. D. Spence, who stated that it would be occupied as a camp for about 150 or 200 girls. The committee agreed to the request and a sub-committee consisting of the chairman, Mr. A. C. Kennerley, and Messrs. F. O. Malcolm and W. A. Whiteman was set up to make the necessary arrangements.
