Dakota Delivered
A Douglas Dakota aircraft arrived at Whenuapai yesterday morning from Sydney on delivery to the National Airways Corporation. She is the last N.A.C. Dakota to be converted in Australia for peacetime Service and will be called the Pukeko, in keeping with the corpofation's custom of choosing for all Douglas machines a name beginhing with a "P." Commanded by Mr. G. Gerrand, N.A.C.'s chief pilot, the plane carried no passengefs. D-jection Day Tomorrow is the last day for the payment of income tax, the penalty rate coming into force from that date. It is expected that a lastminute rush will eventuate, as many apparently hsfVe a fixed aversion to making their compuhsory donations to the Government before the due date. This, however, results in a rush period fbr the post office staff, and it is hoped th'at the public will co-operate by making their payments early in the day. . *
