Delays In Plans For Levin Maternity Home

Concern at the delay likely to be experieneed in having plans drawn up for the new maternity home at Levin was voieed by members of the Palmers' ton North Hospital Board at a meeting yesterday when a reeommendation was received from the executive eommittee that the services of a consulting architeet be secured in view of the large amount of architectural work on whiea the permanent staff was engaged. Mrs Gr. Q. PetOfsen asked- if it WoiikL not be possible to have maternity home pl&ns standarised to avoid the delays in volved when new plans had to be drawn up 'for each building. ■ Such a scheme would not be praeticable beeause differenees in sites and orientation had to be taken into consideration, said Mr A. J. Phillips, manag'ing-secre-tary. 9 The executive's reeommendation is to be adopted and the architect asked to expediate the draWing up of plans.
