Golf Club's Membership Increases

, A rise in membership to a total of 120 and a season of successful activity were the chief features of the Otaki . Golf Club's- yearly report, Su.bmitted to : members" .at the annua'l- general meeting recently. Ther preSident, . Mr. S. A. Elliott, occupied the ,'chair. Last season had seen the increase of the playing area to 12 holes, the report continued, and it was hoped to bring in a further two holes during- the coming season. The greens committee ha'd done splendid work last year and maintained the course ih excellent.oxder. The balance^sheet disclosed that the club had made a profit on the year's working, although the cash in hand was substantially below the balance in hand at the start of the season. Officers electe'd -for the coming year are: — PreSident: Mr. W. Jepson; captain: Mr. Alex. Wilson; hon. secretary: Mr. H. L. Browne; hon. treasurer: Mr. N. D. Anderson; committee: Messrs. W. Rzoska, S. A. Elliott, D. G. Sutherland and N. Willis; hon. auditor: Mr. Alex. Wilson; handicapper: Mr. D. G. Sutherland; delegate to Wellington . District Golf Association: Mr. S. A. Elliott. It was decided that the club rules shoul'd be revised, and this was left to the committee to arrange. Subscriptions remain as for last seeson and opening day has been tentatively set as April 2. It was decided that a social committee be formed and the members will be selected at the clubhouse on opening day. A discussion took place regardmg alterations to the clubhouse, Mrs. Alex. Wilson producing a plan of suggested alterations. This was left to the committee to further investigate. , ... , ,, The hope was expressed that the coming year would see a further increase in the membership, and anyone desirous of joining was invited to contact the secretary or anv present member of the club. *
