New Zealand Picks Team For Athletics Test
WELLINGTON, Feb. 22. Tke team to represent New Zealand against Australia in the athletics test at' Wellington on March 5 was announced today by the administration eommittee of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The selectors were Messrs J. W. Holley and R. Beattie. The team is as follows:— 100 yards: A. R. P. Eustace (Auckland), D. R. Batten (Canterbury), C. Parker (Waikato). 220 yards: Batten and Parker. 440 yards: J. C. Grierson (Auckland), J. Sutherland (Canterbury). 880 yards: Grierson, J. D. Sinclair (Otago), G. Waller (Wellington). One mile: Sinclair, M. L. Marshali (Waikato), N. Bates (West Coast, . North Island). 120 hurdles: Eustace and L. R. Smith (Wellington). 220 hurdles: Smith, D. G. Steward (Auckland), J. S. Williama (Canterbury). 440 hurdles: Steward and Williams. Broad jump: D. Dephoff (Canterbury), W. B. Hough (Auckland). Hop, step and jump: Dephoff and Hough. High jump: J. H. Borland (Canterbury), R. McKenzie (Waikato), G. H. Jefiiries (Otago). Shot put: J. Morgan (Otago)j D. H. Herman (Canterbury). One mile medley relay to be arranged.
