Radio Amateurs

Licensed amateur radio stations in New Zealand total 1858, an increase of 283 over last year. In announcing this in Wellington, t.he Postmaster-General, Mr. Hackett', paid a tribute to the valuable services of radio amateurs in times of emergency. Ensigns For Sea Scouts Two Canafiian silken Ensigns, one bearing tlie arms of the Canadian Navy League, were presented to New Zealand Sea Scouts who will leave for Canada later in the year, by the High Commissioner for Canada, Mr. Alfred Rive, at a ceremony atvhis home at Lowry Bay on Saturday. Other insignia for use during the trip were handed to the recipients by Mrs. Rive. Both the High Commissioner and Mrs. Rive expressed good wishes for the trip.
