West Coast Cycling Title Meeting
Members of the Levin Combined Amateffr. Athletic and Cycling Club competed, at t'he West Coast Cyc.lipg qharnpipnships at Wanganui on Saturday _ night. . Although they were not. placed in the championship events, N. Parker was successful in winning the two-mile B .grade cycle handicap from a very short handicap. S. Bonner and J. Taylor were placed in the second heat of the half-mile open cycle. ; In the handicap athletic events, C. Walker was placed in his heats, whhe in the |adies' events Miss M. Cameron was successful in winning the two events on the programnie — 50 yards and 100 yards open. Miss N. Tyree was secod in her heat, while Miss S. Rose was second in her heat of the 100 yards and also second in the final. Selected For Championships Miss D. Williams, of the Levin club, has been selected to represent the West Coast *(N.I.) Cenire of the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Association at the New Zealand junior and women's championships, to be held at New Plymouth on Marcn 4 and 5. Miss Williams will compe*-3 in the broa'd jump and "high jurnp. Tonight's Programme | For- the Hunter Shield competi[tion tonight a pleasing programme has been arranged, this marking the second round of the series.. Added attraction will be «the appearance of Highland dancers on the' programme, as well as a demonstration of the quickstep by the Horowhenua Pipe Band. ,
