Aethletic Meeting =• ; . Spqaking at the forthightly meeting of the Shamiion Borough 6buncil last, Tuesday eVenihg, Cr. -V. Jv Bateman stated that the Shannon Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club" was holding a sports meeting on the Shannon domain on Saturday, March 12, and asked that permission be granted for the use of the domain>.on that "day sub.iect to it not being used for cricket fixtures. On Ms motion the' necessary permission was- granted. Cr. L. G. Sayer added :that the club were in need of trophie's for thi^ fixture and asked for" support of councillors in this direction.-' A collb'ction was taken up with. the, -result that a generpus _sum will. be handed over to the club for the purchase of a t'rophy or trophies.
