Fire Brigade Hold Social For Member

' Members of the Shannon Volunteer Fire Brigade,- their wives and a number of friends, gathere'd in the the Druids' Hall last Monday evening to honour one of their members who was recentiy married. The guests of honour were Fireman and Mrs. I. Seaton. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. Seaton and Mrs. Cheetham.

The evening took the.form of an informal social. During the supper interval, ' Superintendent C. D. Gyde called upon Fireman and Mrs. Seaton to accept a mo'del yacnt, suitably engraved, as a small token from his feliow brigadesmen. Superintendant Gyde pointed out that Fireman Seaton was, until last annupl meeting, the brigade's secretary and he had done valuable work in the interests of the brigade. In conclusion, he wished Mr. and Mrs. Seaton every happiness and success for their future. Fireman F. Clough also spoke on the work done fof the brigade by Fireman . Seaton and joined with his superintendent in wishing the guests of honour a happy future. Fireman Seaton suitably replied on behalf of Mrs. Seaton and himself and tendefed sineere ' thanks for the very attractive gift ma'de to them by the brigade members. He hoped he would be able to serve many more years as a member of the brigade. A most. enjoyable evening was concluded in the small hours of Tuesday morning with the singing of "Auld Lan'g Syne."
