Were Forged Papers Used In Pre-trial Of Cardinal?
Received Thursday, 12.20 p.m. VIENNA, Feb. 16. The story of how they helped forge some of the documents • Used in the pre-trial campaign against Cardinal Mindszenty, was told to- the Ameriean authorities by M. Lazlo and M. Hanna Sulners, -two Hungarian handwriting experts who fled to Vienna from Budapest after the cardinal's trial. The material purported to show that Mindszenty iyas an opportunist, domineering, • egoistic, and unprifestlike, and like a war criminal. Sulners said that they made the forgeries on Hungarian police mstruetions, and taught forgery technique to the police, who later used it. One process involved the production of an "original" document from a photostat copy. Another allowed a perfect handwriting forgery to be made by the use of original bona fide letters while a special machine oi' Sulners is now preparing cletailed proof of their assertions for possible use by the United Nations if it decicles to take action.
