Eighth Dominion May Be Born

JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 14. An eightb Dominion of the British Commonwealth may be born from discussions at Victoria Falls on Wednesday, between representatives of Sonthern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and 'Nyasaland, says the Associated Press. Federation between these three. territories is the only item for discussion on the agenda. The leader of the North Rhodesian delegation, Mr. Roy Welensky, said such a new Dominion would seriously challenge South Africa's claim to leadership in Central and Southern Africa within the next 25 years. He added that it was his belief that the only workahle solution to the race prohlem in Africa was a partnership with Europeans as the senior partner. The' proposed eighth Dominion had a population of more than 8,000,000 of all races. The three territories embodied tremendous mineral and agricultural resources.
