English Mail Pillaged

AUOKLAND, Feb. 11. The discovery that thieves had pillaged se^n large bags of mail which were brought to Aucklkand by the ship New Zealand Star now lying at Prinees' Wharf, was made late yesterday. The ship berthed on Tuesday evening. Pourteen hundred bags of mail were stowed in a chilled gas chamber between decks in No. 2 hold. Cargo was stowed in front of the chamber which was loeked before leaving London and sealed. On the completion of unloading of this cargo liere, a start was made to clear the mail in the ehamber.
