Fraser, chief shipping_ officer of United Nations' international children 's emer gency fund. Accompanied by Brigadier F. Field, the fund 's Southwestern Paciflc representative in Bydney, .AfrFraser has been visiting the Dominion arranging for the procureinent and "shipping of 'supplies for his organisation. The £391,125 raised during the appeal and £350,000 donated by tlie New^Zeainnd Government, was the iargest per capita contribution of any country in the world, he said. It was remarkable that tlie country fartherest removed from the centres of distress, w7as mak,ng the greatest elfort to lielp the fund. Bince last April New Zealand had been sending regular shipuients and about. 50 per cent. of the donations had been used in buying foodstuff's, soap, flsh ou capsules and wool. All that material had been purchased in the Dominion and lie was hopeful that milk, meats, lish liver oils and possibly hides, could be pi'ocured in tlie near future with thc remaining funds. The purchases were not interfering with New Zealand ;s aid to Britain scheme, he said.
