Man Found With Serious Rifle Wound

OTAKI, F§b, II.' ; Sufferin0- from a buljet wound in the chest, Clarence Robert Ellis Drinnan, of Wellington, was admitted to the Wellington Hosnital froih Waikanae last night. His conditiotf is reported to be; serious. . With . another man and two women, Drinnan was occupy ing an untenanted house in the isolated upper reaches of " the Mangaone Stream valley, about fiye miles from Waikanae. It is stated thait th.e other three mfembers of t" the party wei\e absent from the hpuse and on returning found Drinnan lying on the floor of one. of the rooms with a .22 calibre . rifie nearby. The police were notified of the shooting at 8 p.m.
