At this meeting also remits will be cppsidered for forwarding to the 1949 annual conference, j The president reported on the progreee to date in connectioh with the soldiers' cemetery. This cemetery is §till in thP hands of the Public Wprks Department for the necessary improvements to be carfied out,1 and 'disappointment was expressed at the slow rate of progress tp date. Mr. F. B. Stephens, Assistant LTnder-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs, and Mr. Weir, also in charge of war graves, visited Levin on February 9 and inspected the cemetery% They Jeft with the intention of moving matters forward more quickly than in the past. A circular- was received from Rea'dquarters setting qut the ad•ministratipn details of the proposed J-Force local associations, and' if any members of J-Force wish to form their own association in this town, would they please contaet the R.S.A. secretary. Sympathy was expressed with Mr. Peter Young on his recent illness and a ccomforts parcel has been sent to him. Mr. Young' has been one of the branch's most wijling assistants in the past years. The president reported that no decision ha'd as yet been received fropi the "internal Affairs Department regarding the Memorial Hall subsidy, but that a faveurable decision was expected in the near future.
