Golf Captaincy Approved

There is general approval in British golfing circles of the selection of P. B. Lucas as captain of the British amateur *golf team to oppose the United States in the match for the Walker Cup in New York, on August 19 and 20. The British team will be completed and announced by May 29. Lucas, who has been known as' "Laddie" Lucas since' the time he used to play as a small boy against members of the Princes Club at gandwich is regarded as probably the most popular amateur golfer in Britain today. He is certainly the best lefthander in the country and was a boy international at the age of 14 and boy champion at 17. '
