PRESIDENT PLEASED

. "Who woffidn't.be pleased," was the rejoinder of Mr. Cribb in answer to a question put to him by a "Chronicle" reporter on Monday, as to his thoughts on the meeting. "My officers and committee worked as one man — co-operation was the keynote of the success of the meetin? and the preparations made to handle such a large entry showed results in that the big pfogramme was completed by 10.50 p.m:" "The way the public and businessmen of the town supported us ' was excellent — encouraging to both competitors and the committee alike — and I am sure we can look forward to even larger at'tendances at our weekly club nights in the future. One pleasing feature of the meeting was the success of the competitors from the Boys' Train.ing Centre, out of four entries they secured two firsts and two seconds. They are of great assistance to us at a:l times and their work on Friday and Saturday, under Mr. Abfcot, in preparing the track made our job a lot easier. The club's thanks are also due to Mr. E. J. 'Stanley, of the Centre, for making ifhe public address system available to us, while to our voluntary gate-

'keepers and the Legion of Frontiersmen the club's thanks are PYtpnHpH "Finally," said Mr. Cribb, "I hiust extend my sinoere thanks for the b'oost that 'The Chronicle' has given not only my club, but , Kindred- sports* -as well per medium of the Sports Page."
