Levin Scouts Lose Useful Supporters
At the monthly meeting. of the Levin Scout Committee on Monday night, resignations were received from several officers who have rendered useful service to the movement. The chairman, Mr. V. E. Hudson, announced his resighation as chairman consequent on his recent appointment to the position of District Commissioner. Mr. L. J. Travers was elec'ted in his place. Mr. H. Neville Harrison, who has rendered excellent service as assistant scoutmaster and signalling instructor to scouts and cubs, also tendered his * resignation. Opportunity was taken to express on' behalf of the scouts, cubs and the committee their appreciation of his fine service. Three cubmasters, Misses J. Cheesman, I. Patterson and M. McLean, resigned from their positions. They will shortly be leavingo Levin and the committee expressed its appreciation of their services. The resignation waa also received of Assistant Scoutmaster Brian Allwood, who was a member bf the New Zealand contingent which travelled to France to take part in the world jamboree. Although- the committee is sorry to lose the services of these officers, it hopes that others will come forward and ofler their services to the
Scouts, cubs and geryeral public. Arrahgem'ents are weT in hand for the shop and street day to be held on Tuesday. In announcing this, Mr. Travers expressed the hope that the same fine response from the general public and parents alike, would be in evidence again, both in regard to donations and the purchasing of the various articles on the stalls.
