Big Wages for Queensland Watersiders
Received Monday, 10.30 a.m. BRISBANE, Feb. 7. Watersiders at MacKay, North Queensland, last week averaged 17 guineas each in wages The employers of .260 watersiders working duying the week paid out a gross total of £4643 in wages. Waterfront spokesmen say that this, and the fact that the average weekly wage since last September has been £12, give strength to arguments for increasing the waterside strength of the port.
