Small Boy Nearly Drowned
Within sight of about 50 other bathers, John Lalng, the six-year-j old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Laing, of Bruce Road, Levin, had a narrow escape "from drowning in the Ohau River yesterday afternoon. | The boy, who gqt into difficulties, was not at first missed, but his plight was subsequently seen by 15-year-old Alan Leslie Rolston, who1 carried him to the shore. Constable A. T. Kelk an'd Mr. Rolston rendered artifieial respiration, to which the boy responded.
