Eeceived Friday, 7.25 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 4. Reuter's Singapore correspondtnt says the only difference between Australian and Nazi German racialism is that where Hitler tried to wipe out the Jews en masse Mx. Calwell (Minister of Immigration) is trying to kick Asians one by one out of AUstralia, said the president of the Leftwing Malay Nationalist Party, Xnche Taha Kalu, today. Jie said he was appiying to the Commissioner of Police for permission to stage a mass rally against the proposed deportation of Mrs. Annie O'Keefe from Australia. Meanwhile the Malay Nationalist Party is' drafting an: appeal to 1 the1 United Nations Himian Rights Committee to "bring Australia to task on the question of fundamental human rights and individual liberty. ' ' Taha said the case of Mrs. O'Keefe had laid bare to .the peoples of Asia if not to the world what lay in the core of the "White Australia Policy." It had thrown overboard the face-saving Australian contention that the policy was based on purely economie considerations.
[Mrs. O'Keefe was the Ambonese widow of an Indonesian schoolteacher who lost his life in the war against the Japanese. She and her children have been living in Australia since the war and she was lately married to O'Keefe after he bad been warned that she would not be granted a permit to stay in Australia.]
