A battle of wits between a fleeing killer and the police motivates "The Devil Thumbs a Ride," R.K.O.-Radio|s new starring vehicle starring Lawrence Tierney and opening at the Civic Theatre tonight. Ted North, Nan • Leslie, Betty Lawford and Andrew Tomfces head the supporting cast. Starring Robert Alda, Andrea King and Peter Lorre, Warner Bros.' new mystery drama, "The Beast With Five Fingers" is the second attraction. With an important featured cast that includes Victor Francen and J. Carrol Naish, the exciting drama was adapted for the screen by Curt Siodmak from an original story by William Fryer Harvey.
