With* the return to Austraha' oi two of the three battalions,of the 34th Brigade, the Commonwealth forces in Japan have been reduced to about 2500, including one squadron of the R.A.A.F. Commander of the brigade, Brigadier R. N. L. Hopkins, who travelled home in the Westralia with the rear party of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. 'and the 14th Fighter Wing, R.N.Z.A.F., is now commandant of South Australia. "
