Polio Shows Decline In Auckland District
" AUCKLAND, 'Jan. 3lL The incidenEe -df. poliomvelitis in the Central Auckland health district, snowed a decline last week. Seven positiveand six suspect cases were reported in seven days up to midnight on Sunday compared with 12 positive and live sus])cct cases in the previous week. That was the large.it number in any week since the epidemic was at its height in December 1917. The last case to be declared positive was reported on Friday. No cases kavc^ been admitted to the Auckland Ho^pital in the last thfee ilays. All of ilfe-positive cases reported' last week were children. Two positive cases, a boy and a young man, were reported m the Eouth Auckland health district last week, There were no cases in the Northland area.
