The 'British Consul in Haifa, Mr. Cyril Marriott, called on the Israeli Foreign Minister, Mr. Moshe shertok, and handed1 him a message from the British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, "hoping for the establishment of friendly relations between the British and Israeli Governments." Mr. Marriott spent half an hour with Mr. Shertok. The Associated Press correspondent says it is understood that they discussedi British oil interests in Israel and monetary relations.
