WELLINGTON, Jan. ,28. A unanimous reeommendation by members of the Wellington Drivers' Union at tqday's stopwork meeting was that failing a satisfactory settlement of unioni'sts' claims the National Executive of
tne New Zealand Drivers' Federation should call further stopwork meetings to place the position before the rank and, file. • The Union also stated that the meeting recorded its disapproval of the attitude of the Drivers' Unions in other plaees which had failed to call stopwork meetings to place before its membership the outcome of the reeent .eoneiliation proceedings for a new award. The meeting asked that the question of the attitu'de of the Unions - concerned should be raised at the next conference of the Drivers' Federation. , The action of the Executive in calling today's meeting was unanimously endorsed by ' the meeting, the Union reported, and members also endorsed „the action of the Union assessors in the dispute. and expressed full confidence in them for seeking to eliminate Part 2 of fche general drivers award. The Union officials medntime are not eommenting on Mr. McLagan's statement last night.
