The winner was Miss Dawnl James, Miss Noeleen Cole (Otaki Railway) was second and Miss Jackie Ross third. Weekend Cycling Successes Gontinuing their run of successes, • members of the Otaki Club who made t'he trip to Masterton on Saturday for the athletic meeting there, secured several places, while Des. Smith won the two mile event for junior riders. He was -also second in the half mile,. wit-h E. Mathie third. P. Roach and R. Collis filled second and third. places respectively in the mile,. C. Wilton ran third to Smith in the two mile, and C. Bloomfield was second in the senior two mile and third in the one and three mile events. Searchers Return The party in charge of Sergeant W S. Hughes, of Otaki, who left' on Sund'ay for the Otaki forks to takei part in the search for the missing| Tiger Moth plane, spent the night| 4n one of the mountain huts. They feft at daybreak on Monday and hfter encountering much mist and thick drizzle, had traversed about three miles before they were successful in contacting base with their waikie talkie equipment. On being advised that the atirmen had been found, they". returned to Otaki. .
