Koputaroa W.I. Meets
The monthly meeting of the Koputaroa Women's Institute was held recently in the Koputaroa Hall, Mrs. Pene presiding over a fair attendance of 14 members. Apologies were received from Mesdames Brown, Thompson, Koberstein and Miss Penny. The occasion proved to be a red- ■ letter day for the institute members, as a parcel of Christmas gifts was received from the English link institute. Each parcel was the work of a member of that institute and the recipieiits were greatly appreciative of the individuality and variety qf the gifts- - During the afternoon a talk on the floral decorative schedule for the forthcoming flower show and bazaaf. was given by Miss J. Sorenson. Much merriment was caused by a "Sing, Say or Pay a Penny" competition, members proving •themselves to be most versatile. Competition results were as follows: — Pair of boy's trousers: Mrs. Chapman 1. Best flower: Mrs. Keenan. Best shrub: Mrs. Lancaster. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Hurliman and Sanson.
