Yugoslav Ship Makes Port Of Auckland
AUGKLAND, Jan. 18. With people of more tlian 20 dilferent^ nationalities on board, the Yugoslav ship Partizanka arrivcd, at Auckland today to unload 302 passengers from Australia and 32 from Europe and to take on 25 Yugoslavs who are returning to their Homeland. She will also take about 60 passengers for Sydney. Another 200 Yugoslavs and 100 Albanians and Bulgarians will board the ship.at Sydney and Fremantle. \ - This trip will apparently not take all' who wisli to return to South Eastern Europe for the Fatrizanka is expected to make another trip to Australia at least. However, this was later found to be impossible and the departure was set back until tomorrow morning. Later a message was received from Sydney stating that there would be no berth for the Partizanka if shc sailed before Thursday and it was tlien decided to j put off the departure until tlien. In the meantime anxious passengers and truck loads of their goods, arrived at the vvliarf and swelled the crowds of sightseers already 011 and around the i ship. The jamb was sorled out late in the afternoon. The belongings being takou by some of tlie families roturning to Yugoslavia, include praetically full scts of houseliold effccts and fuimiture. Gelling some of the heavy cases on board promises to prove a major task. The only otlier cargo to be loaded is ahout 50 Iona of gift parcels containing food and eomforts for people in Yugoslavia from their countrynien in New Zealand. Yugoslavs from all paris, of the Dominion lost no timo in hooking to the ship to shake liauds- with their fellow eountrynieu and break into excited eonversation with tliem.
