Reeeived Wednesday, 10.30 a.piNANKING, Jan. 18. ^ The surrender of China's "first ten Nationalists on the Communist war criminals list is reliably reported today to be the price th^ Communists have demanded from Nanking for a negotiated peace. Reuter's correspondent reports that all communication between Nanking and Poiys, over 50 miles north, has been severed as the Nationalists continued preparations to fight a rearguard action against the expecte'd Communist drive- on the Yangtse.
