E. Lawrence/' in a statement at Timaru- in which he gave his approval to the decis-ion of the British Broadcasting . Corporation. to eliminate crime from its dramatic presentations. Mr. Lawrence said that the Canterbury Education Board had frequently expressed qoncern that' so many murder plays and crime stories were included in National Broadcastirig ifeervice programmes, biit all the iboard's representations f,had been . of no avail." Efforts had also been made to have a more rigid censor'ship imposed on crime' films that 1 could be seen by young children.
