Air Hostess's Unavailing Rescue Of Infant
Recpived Saturday, 12.5 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 14. Alla Abranova, the three-year-pld daughter of a Soviet consulate official, died in hospital after being rescued last uight fjrom a fire in the consulate, govjet officials at .first, saying: "Keep out, this is Soviet territory," refused to allow firemen, police and ambulancemen to enter the consulate, but an air hostess, Jean Eougier-rWatkins, dashed past the officials to the baby on the hlgzing second floor. The baby's cot and nightdress were alight when Miss Rougier-Watkins spatched the chiltt in her arms and ran to safety. * Four other persons, including the child's mother, were' rescued from the room hy an escape ladder; The fire, Which started when a gas Stove explpded, was confined tp one room.
