WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. The Atlantis, which arrived at Wellington today with 762 Govern-ment-assisted , settlers and 138 other passengers, left England with three more immigrants than reached Wellington, but that numerical loss was made up by three stowaways. One immigrant, on going ashore at Port Said, became involved in an argument with an Egyptian concerning the sale of a revjlver. The Egyptian police intervened in the argument and the immigrant was arrested. Two other immigrants missed the ship at Fremantle. , One of the stowaways "joined the ship in England and the other tWo stated that they went on board with the crew at Fremantle, and were carried to sea. Ten minutes before the Atlantis was ready to dock today, one. oi the stowaways could not be' found by the police. A mess&ge' was broadcast through the . public address system that no one could land until he arrived. at the purser's offlce. A search of the ship was begun and after a seeond. message went over the air. .the stowaway appeared. Of the Government-assisted ■settlers, -534 will s'tay in 'the -North island and 228 travel South.-There^ are 80 different occupations-follow-ed by the new settlers, who wer'e welcomed to the Dominion on behalf of the Min^ster .of ' Immi^gration and the Government by 'the Secretary of Labour and Director of Employment, Mr. H. L Bockett.
