GREYMOUTH, Jan. 11. The sudden death of a shiftman .in the Liverpool State mine early this morning made both the Liverpool and Strongman mines idle today, approximately 500 employees cf both mines returning home when the news was given them on their way to work of the death of their fellow unionist. The deceased, Mr. Henry Benjamin Gunn, aged 58, marrie'd, was on night shift and was found dead by another shiftman. Gunn was lying across the rope road in the mine at 4.30 this morning, a few minutes after he left his companion to commence work in another section of the mine. No fall of coal or stone occurrer1 'and, pending a post mortem, it is thought possible that his death resulted from natural causes.
