' A Chinese Government spokesman today said: "I am authorised to deny the report that Generalissimo Chiang Kai shek will soon go to Taiwan (Formosa). lo rest. This . report is slieer. rumour and is entirely groundless. ' ' The Associated Press says a carefully worded statement did not eliminate tlie possibility of Chiang flying to Formosa because of the possible retirement of his Government, for any reason other than "rest." Chiang \s private plane has been flown from its usual place at the main airfield severat miles ou'tgide Nanking, to an inner field within the eity wal'ls and only half a mile from Chiang 's residence. ,
