Personal Miss Hull, of Otaki, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. G. Harper, of Otaki, has returned from a prolonged holiday in Waikato. Miss Rae Potham, of Otaki Beach, is spending a holiday in Canterbury. Mr. M. B. Ryder, of Invercarg.il, has been visiting relatives in this district. Mrs. L. Moss and Matron C. Yates, of Otaki, have left' on a mptor tour of t'he Auckland district. Mr. and- Mrs. S. Elliott, of Otaki, are visiting their son Mr. F. Elliott, Bulls.
Rev. Father Reader, of Otaki, has been transferred to Napier, • and Dr. Rasmussen, Catholic Presbytery, leaves at an early 'date for "Fatuna," Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. H. Whitcomb, of Matene ' Street, Otaki, who have been spending a holiday with their daughter in Wellington, have returned home. Woman Softballer The following comment has been made about the Otaki softball player, Miss Betty Hakaraia, wno was selected to play in the final Possibles — Probables tfial, at Athletic Park on Saturday, from which a softball team to tour Australia was selected: "The youthful Betty Hakaraia received a great ovation. . However, she had no opportunity of showing her worth m the outfield, and batted as if she was trying to knock the cover off the ball, instead of batting safely as usual."
