New Appointment For Mr. F. B. Stephens

WELLINGTON, Jan. 11. Mr. F. B. Stephens, who has had a notable career in public admiriistration in New Zealand, has been appointed Assistant Under-Secre-tary for Internal Affairs, and ,has officially taken over his duties. Since 1947, Mr. Stephens has been secretary of the local Government Commission. Mr. J. F. D. Jeune is to be acting secretary to the commission. Mr. Stephens was holder of the Rockefeller Fellowship and travelled to England, Europe and America to study public administration. For some time he had been attaehed to the Minister of Finance's offices. _____________
