Except for isolated cases of sunburn, 110 serious mishaps have 'occ.urred 011 tlie voyages, and some of Ihe more experienced men are makiug tlie journey for the second time, having lione so last year. Among a partv on the river at present is 71-year-old Air. B. Blackburn, from New Bouth Wales, who is travelling with his nephew and his nephew's two sons. Despite his age and the I'ad that infantile paralysis has left him without the use of his iegs since he was two years old, Mr. Blackburn js 'enjoying the voyage. He has to be earried in and out of the boht, and cau ino ve about only with the use of irons manipulated in his hands. River last January. Making their lirst voyage down the river now are two Wanganui boys. They are using two canoes and a fiatbottomed boat. Two Australians now' ofi the river hope to complete the journey in three days in a rubber dinghy. •
