WELLINGTON, Jan. 7. In a Brabin Shield cricket maich at the Basin Reserve today, Horowheiiua batted first against Wellington. At lunch they had lost two wickets for 117 runs. H. F. Rice1 shbwed much of his old form, looking . like the same batsman as when he opened for the Wellington representative team. Details:— ' j HOROWHENUA First Innings ' H. F. Rice, not out 62 C.
