Fancy Dress Parade At Paraparaumu
("Chronicle" Correspondent) On a lovely warm evening recently Hyde's motor camp at Paraparaumu was the scene of a fancy dress parade, organised by the many . campers there. Entrants/ were numerous and fancy costumes of all kinds were to be seen, showing both thought and work, The parade was led by a piper and the scene was one that revived memories of "The Pied Piper of Hamlin Town," as the piper marched round and roundthe spacious tennis courts leading the procession° of little ones past the judges' table. The judges had a most unenviable task selecting the winners. They announeed their decisions in favour of the following:— ■ One to three yeans: The Fairy, ' Janice Watts; Adam and Eve, Heath and Teddy Clelland. Four to seven years: Christmas Tree, Beverly Thomas; the New Look, Lorretta Goodchild. Eight to twelve years: Sarah Gamp, Lorraine Day j'Why Did I Kiss That Girl," Neil "Stott. Twelve to 16 years: The Indians Ghandi and- his Nie'ce, Elaine and Caryl Khouli. ■ Sweets and prizes were distributed to all the children.
