Rain For Last Two Years Almost On Par
Rain fell in Levin last year on exactly the same number of days as it did in 1947, namely 153. The rainfall for 1947, however, was slightiy heavier than the aggregate for last year. ^According to figures'supplied by Mr. H. Harvey, Cambridge Street, 45.08 inches of rain fell in 1948, compared With 45.39 inches in 1947. The following is a record Of the number of days in each mohth on which rain fell, the figures for the previous year. being in parentheses: — January, 7 days (9); February, 9 (8) ; March, 8 (8) ; April, 10 (10); May, 18 (6); June, 13 (19); Juiy, 17 (15); August, 13 (19); September, 15 (17); October, 19 (23); November, 12 (8); December, 12 (11). In December of 1948 2.56 inches xif rain fell compared with 2.48 iiiches in 1947. t .
