WELLINGTON, Jan. 5. What is belieyed to be the firstclimb of Mount Mackay (7540 feet) , was made by members of the Tararua Tramping Club, under the Leadership'of Mr. Jim Cruse, during the holidays. . The party of ten, including four women, made the climb while -en rout'e from Lake Rotoiti, in the Nelson district, to Hamner. The party also elimbed Mount Traverse (7631 f "G'6 1 J During the trip a number of streams not shown in the party^s maps of the area were noted and will be reported to the Lands and Survey Department. -
