British Railways are making drastie staff reductions in the next few months to lielp offset the anlicipated loss in 1948 of nearly £30,(100,000 due to inereascd costs and diminishing earnings, says tlie Daily Telegraph. The disniissals will probably total 25,000 chietly women temporary workers and permanent staff past the retiring age of 05 years.
