Levin Bride Wears Lovely Heirloom Veil

A wedding of eonsiderahle' interest and uniting -two well-known Horowhenua families was solemn- 1 ised recently at St. Mary's Angiican 1 Church, Levin, when Dorothy Anne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Den^ I ton, of Queen Street, Levin, was married to'James Marsden, son Pf '• Mrs. and the 1'ate Mr. L. J. Staples, of Manakau. The church had been prettily decorated ' for the occasion ■ by friends of the bride. Rev. G. B. . Stote-Blandy performed the cere- • mony and the wedding music was 1 played by Mr. J. W. Hayfield. Gowned in a period frock of heavy magnolia slipper satin, the bride ipade a charming picture as she entered the church escorted by her fa.ther. It was trimmed at the ; neck and over the hipline wit^i guipure lace, with deep, round neck|ine, fitting bodice, full skirt and shgntly ruched short sleeves. Her beautiful Honiton point de duchesse veil was a family heirloom over 100 years old and belonging to he'r mother. It was caught on eitherside with a spray of tiny roses. She wore cream eloow-length gloves and carried a posy of tiny pale pink rosebuds and hoya. The oride was attended by her Sister, Miss Lois Denton, and the pridegroorn's sister, Miss Catherine Staples. They were frocked aiike in cameo pink talfeta featurmg fichu necklme, fittinff oodice, full gathered skir't and short sleeves. They wore white eibow-length gioves and carried, bouquets of deep crimson roses and carnations. A spray of these flowers was also worn at the side of the head. Mr. Lawrence Stapies, of Manakau, a cousin of tne bridegroom, was best man and Mr. Franx Corbett, also of Manakau, carried out the duties of groomsman. The ushers at the church were Messrs. Paui and Ricnard uenton, brotners of tne oride. uuring the signing of the register Miss Maureen Black sang "Beioved it Is Morn." On leaving the church the bride was presented with a xucky horseshoe by David Sorenson, a nephew of, the bridegroom. Following the ceremony the guests were entertained at "Denaby," home of the bride. Mrs. uenton received her guests in a vieux rose tailored crepe frock over which she wore a navy edge-to-edge coat. Her hat and accessorjes were to tone. She was assisted by Mrs. Staples, who was attired in a navy suit, with navy hat and accessories. The artistically-arranged decorations at the reception were the work. of Mrs. W.' Donnelly. When the bride appeared later for travelling she was attired in a powder blue crepe frock, with navy edge-to-edge coat and navy accessories. The new home will be at Manakau, where the bridegroom is engaged in farming
