Death of Mr. Kingi Tahiwi
WELLINGTON, Dec. 20. The death occurred iii Wellington tonight of Mr. Kingi Te Ahoalio Rawiri Tahiwi, iO.B.E., one of the best lcnown Maori leaders of the Eo'niinion, wno would have retired from the Maori Affairs Department in whieh he has been employed since 1915, at the end of the month. He was chainnan of the exeeutive of the Ngati Ponelte Maori Asgociation and also of both the Poneke tribal and executive eommittees. Born at Otaki in 1X83, he was a son of the late Mr. Kawiri Kota Tahiwi, of the Ngati-Raukawa, and tlirough his mother was related to the Ngati-Wiia-Irtino sAftinn nf Tp Arawa.
