Millhand Suffers Severe Leg Injuries
GISBORNE, Dec. 20 , Severe leg injuries which involved the . amputation of a limh in hospital yesterday were suffered by a Maori miilhand, Rae Pawa, aged 23, formerly of Mangapeha, at Williams' and Pederson's mill on Saturday. A heavy log was* being rolled off skids to the mill floor when a protruding knot ..struck the end of the skid on which Pawa was stahding, fiipping the skid and man into the air. The log severely . crushed Pawa's leg, which was doubly fractured.
