Nursery Play Centre's "Break-up"

l A ".break-up" party for the children and mothefs of the Levin Nursery Play Centre was held recently. and prov.e'd a very hapjpy occasion for some 35 children who; attended. The , party table wa-s artistically decorated, a popular centre piece being a dish garden illustrating "Jack and the Beanstalk," made by# Miss Mary Todd. Ice cream, strawberries, jellies and soft drinks proved very popular with the children. ' The Mayoress, Mrs. H. B. Burdekin, welcomed all mothers, stating that the play centre was now fhmly estabhshed and mothers were giving their help, reailsng the henefits 'the children derive'd from it. She expressed graiitude to Miss Atack for aeting as full-time feupervisor during the unavoidable hbsence of Mrs. Lovell, expressing ■the hope that Mrs. Lovell would be 'able to take her share of the duties next year. While the mothers were partakIng of afternoon tea, Mrs. Burdekin made reference to the work done by the committee and presented sprays to Miss Atack and Mesdames Lovell, Burnliam, Macdonald, Corry and Rolston. Mrs. Burnham, on behalf of the committee, then presented Mrs. Burdekin with a bouquet. ' It is hoped that Mrs. Somerset, 'of the Wellington Nursery Play Association, will pay a visit and 'give a talk to mothers early in the 'New Year.
